The perfect sugar cookies!

Okay guys, this is extremely embarassing: I haven't even touched this blog since like November?? I'm so sorry..

My new years resolution was actually to really put more effort into blogging because I really do enjoy it but am so lazy!

I hope you all had an awesome new years and holiday season and of course ate lots of delicious holiday foods!

I went to a few holiday parties and was thinking really hard about what I could bring to contribute to the tables of yummy food that was easy to make but not boring at the same time. I was surfing Pinterest (has AMAZING recipes and cuuute ideas!) and saw some really nice sandwich sugar cookies that had plops of jam in between them; otherwise known as Linzer Cookies!

The recipe I found was fairly simple although did have a lot more butter than I'm used to cooking with (but its the holidays so who cares about butter consumption??) And I made my first batch for a pre-christmas get together at some friend's house! I used lignonberry in between and they tasted great with the sweet sugar cookies!

I took them to the party and I kid you not they were gone within like 10 minutes.
So, on christmas eve I made a batch again (this time a much bigger batch since this party had like 30 people invited), and I had bought a really adorable linzer cookie cutter that makes the hole perfectly.  They turned out great this time also!

Then, on new years eve I took some to a party we went to but this time didn't make them as sandwiches but rather normal shaped cookies with my spritz cookie thingy.
