Berry Tart!
Happy Saturday!
Saturdays are my favourite day of the week. Why? Because every saturday I attend cooking classes! I discovered a while ago that my local Wiliams-Sonoma gives free cooking classes once a week, and so i've been going ever since and I absolutely love it! Mostly all of the other attendees are retired chefs so it's a blast to hear their input on things.
Today in class we made a mixed berry tart completely from scratch!
The tart crust was made in one of those awesome kitchen-aid stand mixers (I'm saving up for one because I've been dreaming of having one for a loooong time), so the mixer did all the work and it was so easy to do the rest!
The tart crust was perfectly light and flaky, which now I know how to make!
and the filling was a simple creme patissiere/custard. Then of course the beautiful fresh raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries! This tart is perfect for the spring and summer weather..,
Now I just really need that stand mixer..
