French Palmiers!
Bonjour!
Today's post is about a french dessert I made, so it's only fitting to say Bonjour ;)
This dessert goes by many different names, such as Butterfly Cookies, Elephant Ears, and Palmier!
The first time I had this was in France, at a small patisserie near my aunt's home in Metz.
The delicate, flaky crunch and layer of caramelized sugars on the outside make Palmiers a beautiful thing to eat. I finally found a great recipe on youtube that used Puff Pastry! That's right, ready made dough from the freezer section.
Now, the first time I made these, I left them in the oven literally one minute too long and they completely burned, so make sure to monitor them and take them out of the oven once that perfect golden color is acheived.
